This is a complete list of adjustments & changes I've made to this website.
October 10, 2024:
- Overhauled the social media links on the Link Hub. Check out the trinkets I found!
- Included button links for the 88x31 Button Collections section on the Link Hub.
- Fixed some image overflow issues on Blog Short and Blog Essay pages.
- Updated the links on the Mainstream is Lamestream blog short.
- Slightly increased the font size across the entire website.
- Expanded the margins/padding on 88x31 buttons so it's easier to select them.
- Swapped positions of the Website Updates/To Do List and the Webrings.
- Updated the guestbook (via atabook) to allow all new visitors to submit their website.
- Added the Eggbug Eggring!
- All 88x31 buttons with outgoing links in the tickertape will now permanently glow on mobile devices.
- Added a Manifesto section to the About Me page.
- Added Spoiler text! Now you can click/tap on hidden text to reveal it If you dare >:3.
- Fixed the tooltip popup so that it can retain the same basic body font no matter what.
- Updated the Denezins of the Web in the Link Hub.
- Fixed the endless loading sequence on the "Piracy has become a necessity" Blog Short.
- Adjusted the wording & grammar on various captions in the Artwork page.
- Added missing tags to multiple gallery items in the Artwork page, particularly for images that have no way of knowing what fandom it's from!
- Slowed down the ripple animation on the loading screen and added some "LOADING" text.
- Reorganized the navigation bar. Moved the Commissions back to the Gallery tab, and moved the Special Art/Collections to a new Extras tab.
- Updated the sitemap.
- Added a YouTube icon to every gallery image that has a link to my YouTube videos.
- Added all of the art pieces from 2019 on the Artwork page.
- Updated the Fanzines/Art Collabs tab on the Projects page.
- Resized the font scaling when viewed on mobile devices. Now the text won't look as small.
- Added two more page doll variants, this time by Alalampone and amfmrdo!
- Added a drop shadow to the page doll.
- Updated the Captain Merm fan art gallery on the Collections page.
- Updated the preloader screen! This will do a better job of hiding every webpage while it loads.
- Updated the web dev credits in the Link Hub.
- Updated the Denezins of the Web in the Link Hub.
- Added the No AI Webring!
- Resized the font scaling when viewed on mobile devices. Now the text won't look as small.
- Added two more page doll variants, this time by Alalampone and amfmrdo!
- Updated the Captain Merm fan art gallery on the Collections page.
- Added the WiiRing!
- Moved the To Do List's blockquote to the same righthand area as the Website Updates blockquote when viewed on a desktop computer.
- Added a new webpage to the Blog section on the nav bar: the Diary! Unlike my blog shorts & essays, I will not advertise any of the diary's changes on my home page.
- Updated the sitemap.
- Reformatted the writing block links so that the block & text will change colors at the same time on hover.
- Added a book cover to the Guestbook!
- Updated the web dev credits in the Link Hub.
- Rearranged the home section again so that the Webrings can get more prominence.
- Added short content warnings to the writing block buttons.
- Fixed the content warning text size in the gallery carousels when viewed on mobile devices.
- Resized the logo and the page doll in the footer when viewed on mobile devices.
- Added the Guestbook embed to the home page!
- Rearranged the contents of the home page, mostly to give the Guestbook and the Latest Writings more prominence.
- Removed the Guestbook link at the top of the home page.
- Adjusted when the page doll can become transparent on a cursor hover based on the window size on desktop computers.
- Added the Neocreatives Webring!
- Added some extra layout settings in the CSS that responds to smaller screen sizes on mobile devices.
- Uploaded thumbnail versions of all gallery images. Now the image thumbnails will take less time to load when you first access places like the Artwork page!
- Adjusted the size and dimensions of the page doll images so that certain page dolls will not overtake the screen.
- Fixed the captions of the Captain Merm fan art on the Collections page.
- Updated some Do's & Don'ts on the Commissions page.
- Updated all Guestbook links to Atabook. I will keep my SmartGuestbook account as a backup, but I will not check it at this time.
- Updated the links on the sitemap page to reflect the most recent changes made in the past week.
- Added the null webring.
- Fixed the GIF label from sitting outside of the gif image on essay pages.
- The home pages's Latest Artwork section will now hold up to seven images.
- Added a content warning cover to any applicable gallery images with unsuitable content, flashing images, or eyestraining effects.
- Removed the 2019 button from the Artwork page, because it's sooo not ready yet :P
- Randomized the page doll images! They will now cycle through images made by Medievalwing, Sakana, actuallypunny, Fish_Roe and myself.
- Moved the Commissions header link to the Info section.
- Added the Collections header link to the Gallery section. This page will have a wide variety of images that are not by me, but for now it's now a home for fan art of my mermsona.
- Fixed the Thinking More Positively (is hard) blog short from having the wrong title in the tab bar.
- Added a Table of Contents and Works Cited section on the Never Use Generative AI essay.
- Essays will now have a "Last Updated" note at the top of the main text body.
- Changed the Table of Contents section into a dropdown button, much like the buttons on the header.
- On mobile devices, the Back To Top button will no longer change colors after it's selected.
- Updated the appearance of the Scallywag Says blockquote.
- Fixed the fanzine image previews connecting to each each other through the left/right buttons on the Projects page.
- Added all of the art pieces from 2020 on the Artwork page.
- Updated the Fanzines/Art Collabs tab on the Projects page.
- Added a GIF label to all .gif images, except for 88x31 buttons.
- Removed a duplicate paragraph in the Never Use Generative AI essay.
- Added missing 2024 images on the Artwork page.
- Moved the webrings to their own subsection on the home page.
- Changed the links on the Shorts page into box button links.
- Box button links, such as those on the Shorts and Essays pages, will be resized and will stay highlighted when viewed on mobile devices.
- Shrunk the Back to Top button when viewed on mobile devices.
- Added a new blockquote type that you may see in the Shorts or Essays: Scallywag Says! I've implemented it in this Blog Short.
- Uploaded my first essay!
- Updated the Essays page with some fancy picture box links for every essay.
- Added a drop shadow to the header box.
- Renamed the "Latest Blog Posts" section to "Latest Writing" on the home page and updated the look of its section.
- Recolored the tooltip text to the standard body text color, so that they cannot compete with hyperlinks for attention.
- Tooltips will remain highlighted after you select them, but will turn off as soon as you click/tap on an empty space.
- Replaced the "Back to Top" link at the footer with a button, which can now be located at the top right corner of the screen when you scroll down. The old "Back to Top" link was causing issues for individual blog short/essay pages.
- On the Projects page, all images in the Fanzines/Art Collabs tab will have a backlit glow when you hover your cursor over them.
- Added the Splatnet Webring!
- Added some Art Fight pieces in the 2024 section on the Artwork page.
- Updated the T&C details on the Commissions page.
- When previewing vertical images & some squared images on a desktop computer, the description will now be positioned to the right instead of the bottom.
- Added a Special Art section under the Gallery tab on the header. This leads to a set of art galleries for specific purposes & collections that stand apart from my general artwork.
- Added a new gallery to the Special Art page: Identity Comics! These are short form comics I made around late 2021.
- Updated the sitemap.
- Added all of the art pieces from 2021 on the Artwork page.
- Updated the Fanzines/Art Collabs tab on the Projects page.
- Slightly reduced the size of the images in the Artwork's galleries.
- Removed the Splatfest result art pieces from the main art galleries. They will be getting their own special gallery soon :)
- Converted the image galleries on the home page and the Commissions page into carousel galleries!
- Rearranged the image galleries and text on the Commissions page so that it's easier to see the images.
- Overhauled the home page layout...again lol
- Added all of the art pieces from 2022 on the Artwork page.
- Updated the Fanzines/Art Collabs tab on the Projects page.
- Reformatted the images in the Fanzines/Art Collabs tab on the Projects page. Now I can make little image galleries in there if I wanted to!
- On the Artwork page, replaced all outgoing links in the Art Fight posts with the recipient's associated Art Fight link.
- Doubled the amount of images in the Latest Artwork section on the home page & rearranged the layout. This home layout might change in the future.
- The image on the landing page will now randomize the meme that appears on the computer screen :)
- Updated the web dev credits in the Link Hub.
- Added a domain name to the website! Now this is officially a .com website :D Based on what I have seen so far, all Neocities versions of my website links will redirect to here.
- Updated the "Link Me!" directions on the About Me page to reflect the new domain name changes.
- Replaced all basic links under the Denezins of the Web section with their respective 88x31 buttons (if provided) in the Link Hub.
- Added a drop shadow to all 88x31 buttons.
- Updated PNG Tuber pricing and clarified some T&C details on the Commissions page.
- Updated the landing page image and changed its layout.
- Increased the size of all text on all webpages when viewed on a desktop computer. This could make it easier to read pages even at a 100% zoom level.
- Added a drop shadow to the theme switcher button for easier readability.
- Fixed the image preview descriptions using the wrong font.
- Enlarged the theme switcher button & adjusted its positional behavior based on the screen width.
- Uploaded missing images for the Commissions page.
- Added tooltips! They currently do NOT work in blockquotes, so my tooltip usage may be limited.
- Offloaded the website content warnings from the home page to the landing page. They can be viewed through tooltips.
- Adjusted the size of the page doll when viewed on a desktop computer.
- GIFs in the Artwork page will now only play when you hover your cursor over them or when you preview them.
- Added metadata to every webpage. This means that a preview will show up when you post a link from here onto another site that supports auto-embedding.
- Added the CaptDedEyes logo to the footer. Rearranged the page doll's positon and the contents of the footer to accomodate this change in space, especially when viewed on mobile devices.
- Finalized the image examples on the Commissions page.
- Added a Table of Contents on the Commissions page. I might change this in the future to make it more flexible instead of a list on a single line of text.
- Added a webring! If I'm included in any more webrings, I will move out the Website Updates blockquote to make space for them.
- Added a landing page! Very much a work in progress, but I wanna move the content warnings there in the near future.
- Shrunk all of the scrollable blockquotes when viewed on mobile devices.
- All animated 88x31 buttons will only play when you hover your cursor over it.
- Updated the tickertape! I would love to take your suggestions for it :) For now, just email me links or images.
- Moved all links that only lead to 88x31 button collections from the tickertape to the Link Hub.
- Better defined the code for font implementation, meaning that some spots on the header and footer will no longer have a generic sans serif font.
- Changed the body font from Gill Sans to Atkinson Hyperlegible.
- Significantly brightened the body text's color in the dark theme.
- Updated the About Me page and the FAQ page.
- Fixed an overflow issue on the Commissions page when viewed on mobile devices.
- Adjusted the page doll's size and position when viewed on mobile devices.
- Updated the drop shadows on gallery items & 88x31 buttons to accomodate PNG images with transparency.
- Reduced the size of the gallery images when the cursor hovers over it.
- Updated the image examples on the Commissions page.
- Updated the Commissions page. Some art references have been added, the TOS has been updated, and I've added a waitlist.
- Updated the Denezins of the Web section on the Link Hub.
- Directly uploaded the body font for the website and linked it to paragraph text. If this has worked, then that means that the body font shouldn't change between Apple devices and Windows/Android devices.
- I FINALLY finished the 2023 gallery on the Artwork page! It was missing some pieces on there.
- Fixed separate art galleries being connected to each other via the left & right arrows when previewed. (i.e. Being able to cycle from the 2024 gallery to the 2023 gallery in the preview screen)
- Fixed being unable to select the description text in previewed images.
- Rearranged two-part images in the art galleries to have Part 1s set before the Part 2s instead of the other way around. Also fixed a typo that prevented ALL gallery images from being previewed.
- Added a spacer between the bottom of the body text and the return button in all Blog Shorts.
- Added a static PNG image of "CaptDedEyes_btn2" on the About Me page.
- Updated the Home page's design a little more. Now there are two artwork previews! Because of this new development, I will consider moving around the Website Updates and To Do list sections, especially when I get something to fill in the gaps.
- Implemented a JavaScript to further enhance the lazy loading features on the Artwork page. It's still not quite enough for me, because an entire section of images can still load at the same time as soon as they're made visible 🤔 This needs some work.
- Overhauled the look of the Home page. Now everything is visible! I might move the To Do list elsewhere if I wanna reduce clutter.
- Applied lazy loading to all gallery images on the Artwork page. This means that they will not load until they're made visible.
- Fixed the gallery images causing the page to overflow when selected on mobile devices.
- Added the Fanzines/Art Collabs section on the Projects page. This section will be updated at the same time as the gallery archive on the Artwork page.
- Updated the guestbook link. I am now using SmartGuestbook.
- Separated the New Stuff from the Website Updates into their own tabs on the Home page.
- Shrunk the gallery images on the Artwork page when viewed on a desktop computer, but also increased the size of a gallery image when you hover your cursor on it.
- Added some artwork for 2024 and 2023 sections on the Artwork page.
- Removed the Guestbook tab from the Home page. 123Guestbook is scheduled to shut down on July 1st, 2024 :(

- All outgoing links that leave this website will now open in a new tab.
- Moved the site updates from the home page to its own webpage. You can now view a complete list of site updates from the change log page.
- Changed the Site Updates section on the Home page to a New Updates section. The plan is to not only use this space to post new site updates, but also new blog posts and art pieces.
- Updated the sitemap and the footer links.
- Added a button at the bottom of each Shorts page that links back to the main list of Blog Shorts.
- Replaced the theme switcher icons with original artwork! It also changes size whenever you hover or click it.
- Added a favicon on all webpages! For now, it's just Scallywag :)
- Changed the behavior of the theme switcher icon & the page doll if the screen's width is small enough on a desktop computer.
- Shrunk the images in the image galleries when viewed on desktop or tablets, but hovering over the images will enlarge them a bit.
- Added some art from 2023 on the Artwork page.
- Added a "Scroll left & right" prompt on the tab menus when viewed on mobile devices.
- Updated the instructions on navigating the tab menus and image galleries when a page is viewed on a touchscreen device or a computer.
- Fixed the gradient appearing on the lightbox caption when viewed on mobile devices.
- Updated the lightbox caption's styling when viewed on mobile devices.
- Added instructions on navigating the tab menus and image galleries when a page is viewed on a touchscreen device.
- Added a gradient mask on tab menu buttons and blockquotes when they overflow.
- Updated the image gallery and added some art from late 2023 on the Artwork page.
- Updated the tab section buttons to overflow horizontally and to stay enabled when a tab is selected.
- Implemented a new lightbox for the Artwork page. Now you can view the images with a complete description!

- Fixed how certain website elements will look on smaller mobile devices device displays.
- Fixed the page doll unintentionally extending the footer on mobile devices devices.
- Updated the Game Dev section on the Projects page.

- Added the Blog Essays page. There are currently no finalized essays yet, but they will go to that page when it's ready.
- Added the Projects page. This is currently a WIP and will be fully updated in the future.
- Added the Guestbook on the home page. You can access the embedded web version below, but I have yet to see if it's worth keeping there. 🤔
- Hooray! All of the missing links have been filled! But they will have to be updated in the near future.
- Centered the dropdown menus in the navigation bar.

- Implemented a working lightbox for the Artwork page. Now you can view the images with a beautiful image viewer!
- Adjusted the tabs & image gallery on the Artwork page. This is a temporary setup and will be updated in the future.
- Added tabs to the About Me page. There are now sections for my basic Stats (with a fully styled table!) and my list of favorites.
- Updated the web dev credits in the Link Hub.
- Added the Artwork page, along with a tabbed section setup.
- Finalized the third dropdown menu naming conventions in the navigation bar. Gallery now houses the pages for Artwork, Commissions, and Projects.
- Added a fullscreen solid color overlay that fades out every time a page loads. I may have to adjust the fade out timing in the future depending on how quickly my page can load images.
- Whoopee! It's my birthday! 🎂
- Fixed a nasty screen overflow bug on small mobile devices displays.
- Drastically reduced the amount of webpages I need to make in the navigation bar. Tabbed sections will be a necessity on Artwork pages at this rate.
